William J. Atkins is a founding member of Atkins & Attwood, LLC. A seasoned civil and criminal trial lawyer, Mr. Atkins concentrates his civil practice in the areas of false arrest, serious personal injury, employment discrimination and civil rights matters.

Mr. Atkins earned his undergraduate degree from Vassar College in 1991 (B.A. History) and his Juris Doctor degree from Emory University in 1994. An active member of the Moot Court Society at Emory, he was privileged to represent his class as a member of the 1993 National Moot Court team.

Prior to founding Atkins & Attwood, LLC, Mr. Atkins was a partner at Parks, Chesin & Walbert, P.C. His trial practice focused on employment, civil rights and serious personal injury cases. Mr. Atkins developed his passion for jury trials as a prosecutor in Douglas County, Georgia. He secured convictions in over twenty felony and misdemeanor cases, all of which were affirmed on appeal.

Mr. Atkins is admitted to practice in the Georgia Supreme Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia. Mr. Atkins is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Bar Association, the Cobb County Bar Association, Lawyers Club of Atlanta, and is a Master member of the Lamar Inns of Court.

Mr. Atkins lives with his family in Cobb County. He is a proud step-father of four children, C.B., Jeffrey, Owen, Tali and the family's beloved golden retriever, Tommy the Dog.
